Actor 2-Boy and Messenger. Female, 18-30.

Actor 3-Katharine, Hostess, Gloucester, Orleans, Cambridge, Herald, York. Female 30-70.

Actor 4- Williams, Scroop, Salisbury, Bardolph, French Soldier. Any gender, any age.

Actor 8- King of France, Westmoreland, Grey, Montjoy. Any gender, any age.

PREPARATION
Please bring a printed headshot and resume.

Please prepare 2 contrasting Shakespeare speeches, at least one of which should be in verse. The combined length of both speeches should not exceed 3 minutes. Again, we are looking for strong vocal support, bold physical choices, and specificity of thought. Actors in this production will play multiple roles, so we really want to see contrast between your two pieces!

If you play a musical instrument, please feel free to bring us 60-90 seconds of music, ideally in a folk-style. A piano will not be provided. Callbacks will consist of readings from the script.

LOCATION
Auditions will be held at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, at 60 N Kent Street, Saint Paul, MN. Please arrive at least ten minutes before your chosen slot, and enter through the side door (the entrance on Kent Street, not on Portland Ave.) There will be an audition form to fill out and signs to point you into the room.

PLEASE SIGN UP FOR AN AUDITION SLOT: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4EACAF22A4F5C34-55766544-henry

We will see walk-ins if we have time.

For actors who absolutely cannot make the in person auditions, video auditions will be accepted at hadleyen@gmail.com until March 26th at 4pm. In-person auditions are distinctly preferred.

OTHER

Please note that this production will involve simulated violence.

This production will utilize minimal technical elements, and is being built to tour. The first weekend of performances could take us into women’s shelters, local prisons, and other outreach based non-traditional spaces, while the second will be in a more traditional theatre space. We are looking for actors who are community-minded, flexible, and multi-faceted.

Actors will cover multiple roles and will most likely never leave the stage.

Brick by Brick Players is a twin-cities based company focused on what Artistic Director Hadley Evans Nash calls Theatre of Joy in the Traumatized Body, or theatre that sees those that have been traumatized as full humans capable of immense and revolutionary joy. We strive to continue to create accessible art that focuses on healing, reclamation of text, and ensemble driven work. More information about the company can be found here:
