We believe that change, healing, and hope aren’t reliant on grand gestures, but on the immense courage of small everyday actions. We’re building a theatrical home, a kinder community, and a brighter future one brick at a time.

Theatre of Joy in the Traumatized Body is theatre that recognizes those who have been traumatized not just as victims, but as full humans capable of revolutionary and transformative joy.
The term was coined by Artistic Director Hadley Evans Nash when she realized that there was a real lack of stories being told about individuals who had been through trauma and also experienced immense joy. We strive to fill that void with stories that provide hope by showing that trauma isn’t a death sentence, and that joy and pain can live side by side.
